An American journalist based in Ho Chi Minh City, Michael uses his unique position to provide rare on-location insight into Vietnam and its culture through a Western lens.

He has a degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Political Science and History and is currently Editor in Chief of Saigoneer, the largest English language website lifestyle publication in Vietnam. He has also written for the Guardian, the Washington Post, the Telegraph, the Atlantic, South China Morning Post, and more.
